Vacationing at Camp Arcadia

Camp Arcadia welcomes guests with the simple charms of a resort built more than three-quarters of a century ago.  From its traditional white clapboard, green-trimmed exterior, to the homey delight of the red-checkered table cloths on our dining room tables, to the hand-painted Native American & Western motifs in the Wigwam.

The Program

Vacation weeks at Camp Arcadia have been called "a cruise beside the lake" because of the array of activities offered daily.   Weekly programs vary and are tailored to our guests’ needs and interests.  But, regardless of the program, each week features a single or pair of "deans" who act as spiritual leaders for the week, offering daily Bible study and table prayers.  This unique facet has been a tradition since Camp opened its doors in the summer of 1923.

Our family week programming features adult morning Bible study and presentations. At the same time the children and youth are engaged in their own Bible study and activities.  Other programs are designed for family participation (family relay games, square dancing, a talent show, the traditional Friday Night Dress-up Dinner, a patio carnival, etc.).  Vacations for 'adults only' feature guest speakers and field trips to local areas of interest.  Sunday morning worship takes place at Trinity Lutheran Church in the village of Arcadia, a short walking distance from the Camp.

Vacations at Camp Arcadia include lodging in a traditional Inn room, three meals daily, and all activities. Weeks generally run from Saturday (check-in 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. EST) through the following Saturday (check-out by 10 a.m. EST) except teen retreats which run Sunday through Saturday, and Golf & the Gospels which runs Saturday through Friday morning.
