The Camp Arcadia Archive program
was started in 2001. This program has two seasonal staff members and a
volunteer staff of approximately 25. Both the staff and volunteers work to
fulfill the mission of the archives. For more information on the archive
program at Camp please call the main office at 231/889-4361
Accessing
the Camp archives by appointment with the supervision of a staff member is
permissible. Most requests may take time to find since the Archives is
still organizing its cataloging system.

Volunteers, Artifact
Donors & Financial Donors
The Archives
seeks more volunteers and encourages Arcadians to get involved with this
very important part of Camp Arcadia. This fun NEW way to become more
involved at Camp Arcadia is a great way to learn more about our history and
also insures that Arcadians in the future will be able to learn what you did
and more. The Archives has many different ways for all ages to get involved
please contact the Archive office if interested. Here are just a few of the
many ways you can help out.
Donate family RKD treasures
Even though
the Camp itself has managed to accumulate many valuable artifacts over the
years, it is people like you we are hoping will be able to fill the missing
links. We are interested in anything associated with Camp Arcadia.
A common misconception when Arcadians wish to donate an item or items, is
that we may already have it. This may be the case with some items, though
in many instances more than one artifact is necessary to
properly preserve and display the item.
All
artifacts donated to Camp Arcadia [a 501(c)3 non-profit organization owned
and operated by the Lutheran Camp Association] become property of the LCA
strictly to fulfill the Archives mission. These items will be stored and
displayed on site at Camp Arcadia for future generations to enjoy.
Volunteer Work Bees
Spending time
in the Archive Office helps the Program achieve many of its preservation
goals and you also learn many new ways to preserve your own treasures at
home. Volunteers find fun in helping preserve artifacts while sneaking
peeks of what was being preserved.
Financial Donations
Financial
donations are used for archival supplies and equipment that the yearly
budget can’t cover. For a detailed list on what the funds are used for
please obtain a copy from the Archive Office. Donations can be made to the
Forward Fund as a restricted donation to the Archive Program.
Join the “Simply
Giving” program
This new
program makes it easier to give. For as little as $10 a month, your gift can
be automatically withdrawn from your checking account each month and
deposited into Camp's account. You can even allocate a percentage of your
donation to go to various funds. Contact the Camp office (231) 889-4361 for
a registration form.
